Welcome to FireStats, LLC.

FireStats is a consulting firm specializing in the analysis of fire service data and in teaching analysis techniques to fire service officers.

Company founder, Paul Rottenberg, is a management consultant with over 20 years of experience in economic service and consulting to and for industry and local government. For the past 15 years Paul has been doing economic, data management and policy work on environmental and public works and public safety projects in California, Florida, and East Asia. He has worked with many of the different departments at the State government level in California and with California, Florida and Texas counties, special districts and cities and is a USFA Subject Matter Expert on Deployment Analysis. Paul spent ten years as an active paid-call firefighter/apparatus engineer/EMT with a combination fire department in Northern California and keeps current most of his certifications, including California Firefighter I, Hazmat, EMT and driver/operator.

FireStats’ specialized Fire Service Educational Programs include conference presentations and one-, two- and three-day on-site courses and seminars in data analysis techniques, Microsoft Excel, statistics, project management, project budgeting, data migration and data management. FireStats offers a highly specialized class of Consulting Services that involve statistical analysis of fire department operations. Our analyses are typically performed for departments that wish to establish a set of baseline performance observations for their department and cannot rely upon their raw CAD and/or RMS data.  FireStats assists these departments in identifying their salient performance issues, data to capture at the engine-company level, ongoing analyses that need to be performed, and a list of statistical measures and their importance for ongoing performance measurement.
